A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Bullpup Families,

Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! I am thrilled to embark on this journey with you as we “Unlock the Potential” of each and every one of our students.

Irving Elementary School holds a special place in our hearts, not just as educators, but as members of a vibrant and tight-knit community. Our school is steeped in tradition and rich in its connection to the families we serve. Together, we believe in the power of unlocking our students' potential, allowing them to discover themselves and develop their unique talents and abilities.

As we kick off this new school year, I want to express my gratitude to our dedicated staff who work tirelessly to create a safe, rigorous, and engaging learning environment for our students. From preschool to 5th grade, our teachers take great pride in crafting standards-based lessons that foster collaboration and support student growth and achievement.

Irving Elementary is proud to be a part of District 60's Innovation Zone, where we embrace diverse learning opportunities to support student achievement and growth. Through innovation, we encourage creativity, problem-solving skills, exploration, and research, all of which are essential for students to become lifelong learners.

In addition to our core academic programs, we offer various avenues of support to meet the needs of every student. Whether through our Exceptional Student Services Department, Student Council, Gifted and Talented program, or our partnership with the Boys and Girls Club, we are committed to providing a well-rounded education that meets the needs of all learners.

Communication and partnership with families are paramount to our success. That's why we utilize platforms like ClassDojo to keep you informed and engaged in your child's education. We also host Title I family nights, parent-teacher conferences, and other activities throughout the year to foster a strong school community.
