Students learn what it takes to be a firefighter

One of the highlights of summer enrichment is learning that extends beyond building walls.

K-2 students in Irving Elementary's summer program got an up-close look at the life of a firefighter during a visit to Pueblo Fire Department Firehouse 11.

Students toured the station, explored the fire engines, enjoyed a story read by firefighters, and even put their aim to the test with a fire hose.

District 60 is grateful for community partners like the Pueblo Fire Department, whose support helps create memorable, hands-on learning experiences for our students.
